Life could be a movie...

It was a dark, cold, rainy night. Perfect for making sugar cookies for the gemeinde essen... until we realized that we needed some flour. Blah! Coats on, umbrellas up and off to the metro we go. (The closest, open store is 15ish minutes from the house.)

As we stand at the light waiting for the little green icon that allows us passage, I am suddenly made wet by a passing automobile! It was as if to say "Ha! I have a car, and you don't." I honestly only thought that that happened in the movies. The water on my pants proves me wrong. I know better now. I will stand clear from the curb and the splashing surf of passing cars. We had a bit of a laugh about that.

On our return journey to the house it was umbrellas up again. The wind was fierce this time and what do you know... my umbrella gets turned inside out. I also thought that only happened in the movies. I'm getting used to being wrong.

This week it snowed. Sure we get snow here. Supposedly "if it ever snows here it doesn't stick around... it usually melts the next day" So, this is what I woke up to on Monday morning.

So BEAUTIFUL! I was so excited. I felt just like a kid on Christmas day. I ran down the stairs to get a closer look and my legs began to grow heavy as I realized we don't have a car. I ran to the garage... sure enough I would be biking today. Regardless, I was sure I could do it. (Optimism is really just a nice way to lie to yourself.) "What a character builder! It's going to be fine." I was off to a rough start, I was concentrating hard and that's when it hit... no really, that's when my body hit the ground! The first thing I thought of was the random scene in "While You Were Sleeping" when the paper boy falls off his bike in the winter weather. I'll think twice before laughing at that scene again! That also is something that can happen in real life, though it appeared I was the only one doing it.

The point I am trying to make is that everyday is an adventure. Indeed my life could be a movie... a comedy, but not a romantic comedy. After all my personal experiences I'm willing to believe that not everything is fictional. For all we know, wardrobes have a magical land behind them... toys can talk... there is a prince (?)...Superheros can save the world... and people really do break into song and dance! Oooo... I'm excited, I hope that one is tomorrow!
