I know that there were only 2 people who commented on my last post, who knows how many may have actually read it, but I appreciate follow through so by request I am simply providing the update of my "date box date."
I got home from work around 7:30pm and asked my roommates what I could wear that would work for the date, but not look like I was really excited about going out with a person that put me aside like yesterday's news. We found something and I put it on and re-straightened a piece of hair that was going crazy in the front. (You see? I was putting my best foot forward... I just... wasn't wearing my best outfit.) ______ called at about 7:45pm... I was hoping he wasn't about to cancel AGAIN, (since that would not be in his best interest) and he wasn't...well... mostly. He was actually calling to change the plan. We were supposed to go bowling but he asked if he could take me out for ice cream instead. I'm not putting up a fight, so... we went out for ice cream. (at my least favorite place, but he couldn't have known that)
He picked me up a little after 8:00pm. For the record, he looked very nice and the conversation was fine. (I'm pretty ok with conversational skills since I work with the public) When we got to the ice cream shop I was overwhelmed with the choices, but he already knew what he wanted so he went right up and ordered. I felt pressured to hurry so I went with my standard ice cream choice. (I've never gone wrong with Strawberry) We sat down and chatted as we ate. He cleaned up our stuff and disposed of it. We got in the car and started driving. I felt like things were going well and I began to wonder if he had anything else up his sleeve... then I remembered I was with _______.
He pulled up to my house. Walked me to my door. We tied the loose ends of the conversation I felt we had only just begun. He asked to hug me... and then did. He wished me a good evening and I wished him the same before entering my house, eyes searching for the clock on the wall.
8:53pm
I bet his sigh of relief was greater than mine... obligation fulfilled. Doesn't that feel good?

I agree with Wendy. I was just cracking up. ______ is a doofus!!! But I am so happy to hear that the dating box (and committee) is clearly working like a charm.
OH MY GOSH. Oh Anya, how I have a love-hate relationship to this story. Having lived in Provo for four years, I HAVE had similar things to me... and I HAVE had my name put in a date-box. Can we just move to California together? Yes, please.
I hav to say this - It DOES make for a good story.
*muah*
P.S.______ sounds like a douche. I hope that's not inappropriate - I simply speak from the heart.
You are so much nicer than me! I like naming names when some one is a turdfish! Seriously!
